Azadeh Nematzadeh, PhD is a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Meta Reality Labs with over 13 years of relevant experience. She is a solution-driven technology leader who is experienced in identifying business problems, managing complex projects, and distilling actionable insights. Azadeh has a diverse educational background with a Doctor of Philosophy in Informatics and Computing from Indiana University, a Master of Science in Information Security from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Shahid Beheshti University. Prior to her current role at Meta Reality Labs, Azadeh worked as a Senior Data Scientist at S&P Global where she brought a fresh perspective from machine learning and network science disciplines to some of the finance industry's most interesting problems. She defined products, managed teams, and implemented solutions, leading to improved operational efficiency and driving novel valuable insights. Her cross-functional collaboration with the corporate finance, structure finance, and diversity and inclusion research lab resulted in several published articles, patents, and analytics products. Before joining S&P Global, Azadeh utilized modeling, machine learning, and empirical analysis in her research, including studying the emergence of new communication patterns in groups subject to information overload and modeling the effect of popularity bias on people's choices and friend's recommendations in determining global patterns of information consumption. She also gained diverse experience working as a researcher on several data mining, computational biology, and information security projects, worked as a software engineer in the industrial sector, and taught undergraduate level courses.
